The Sergio Corporation has a long history of serving the needs of the residents of Michiana. We believe our employees share an important role in the growth and development of the company to where we are today. From the days of "Sun God Pools," our founding company, to the initial days of First Response Construction (1992 - 1995) and on to the expansion of First Response to a full service Restoration Company (1996-2001) our successful growth has been a team effort. The following is a brief history of the company:
| 1977 | Tony P. Sergio, Jr. begins a swimming pool service company from his home. |
| 1982 | "Sun God Pools" opens in downtown South Bend. |
| 1984 | "Sun God Pools" expands into an 8,000 square foot building, relocating its' retail operation. |
| 1988 | The first convenience outlet opens in Granger, IN. |
| 1990 | "Sun God Pools" changes its name to "Sergio's Pools & Spas". |
| 1992 | The second convenience store opens in Plymouth, IN. |
| 1994 | First Response Construction Company is founded. |
| 1996 | First Response Contents Restoration Services opens in Niles, Michigan. |
| 1997 | Sergio's Pools & Spas employs more than 50 and doubles its building size by adding an 8,000 square foot office and warehouse expansion. |
| 1998 | Sergio's Custom Concrete is founded. |
| 1999 | First Response adds Water Extraction and Carpet Cleaning Services. |
| 2000 | The Sergio Corporation is founded. |
| 2001 | First Response adds Environmental Services. |
| 2001 | The Sergio Corporation receives Small Business of the Year Award from The St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce. |
| 2002 | The Sergio Corporation sells Sergio's Pools & Spas and Sergio's Custom Concrete. |
| 2004 | First Response develops into a regional large loss contractor and responds to Hurricanes on the Gulf Coast. |
| 2004 | First Response receives the National Institute of Disaster Restoration's Phoenix Award for "Innovation in Restoration" for cost savings and speed of response. |
| 2005 | First Response develops state-of-the-art Contents Restoration Plant in South Bend. |
| 2005 | First Response is mobilized to respond to Hurricane Katrina the worst natural disaster in United States history. |
| 2006 | Homeland Restoration Network is founded to bring a network response to Regional & National clients. |
| 2006 | The Sergio Corporation receives the "Family Values in Business" Award from The Samaritan Center, for the family friendly personnel policies and benefits. |
| 2007 | The Homeland Restoration Network Mobile Command Center is commissioned to maximize response and recovery efforts. |
| 2008 | First Response formally launches Biohazard Remediation Services and mobile flood response teams mobilize to Chicago, Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Cedar Rapids in response to severe regional flooding. First Response also is mobilized in Hurricane Ike response and recovery efforts in Texas. |
| 2009 | First Response completes mitigation of the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Down after a torrential rainstorm floods the 90,000 sf site. |
